Everything ... the action was good when i got it, but i spent some time on the setup and made it even better. plays like a dream all over the whole neck. the 2 DiMarzio humbuckers deliver an incredible sound. and it looks sexy as hell - when i first got it i would catch myself just staring at it and wanting to touch it again ... sick huh.
it doesnt get a good acoustic tone - but seriously folks ...

The construction and quality is amazingly good considering the cheap materials used. the body has to be some kind of plyboard. the machine heads were pretty well worn (tho quite functional) when i bought it, and i replaced them soon after just so it would look better. cheap materials notwithstanding, it is solidly put together. no rattles whatsoever. the action and intonation are great. the exception to the cheap materials are the aforementioned DiMarzio humbuckers ... god what a beautiful sound.
Mine was the first Hondo I had ever encountered, but afterwards, i did some research. Turns out Hondo had some good years and some bad ones. The early 80s were really great years. This Hondo Paul copy sold for $340, within $100 of the Gibson it was copied from. it must have been about 15 years old when i got hold of it. someone took pretty good care of it along the way. After reading some of the reviews on this page, i had to speak up.
